At Glacier Peak Cardigans, our breeding program is built on a foundation of health, structure, and temperament. We believe that sound temperament is just as important as physical excellence & our goal is to raise dogs who are not only correct in structure, but also confident, adaptable, and loving.

Why did you start breeding?
Being in the dog training world I see the worst of the worst, and I noticed a distinct lack of breeders who bred for true functionality in every area. Some bred for conformation or flashy colors but ignored health--others bred for health but ignored temperament. I don't think that families should need to sacrifice health, or temperament, OR looks in their search for their perfect pet.What makes your program special?
My focus on true functionality. A truly wellbred dog is able to do it all, and I take my responsibility seriously to produce the best that I can. With family companions in mind, I focus on adaptable and resilient puppies. Our puppies are raised in-house, with ENS/Puppy Culture, and exposed to livestock, children, and a number of stimuli to help them grow to become confident, secure, and social.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brindle and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sage
Sage has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Sage partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“I pride myself in going to great lengths to ensure every family is paired with the perfect pup. Puppies are assessed using multiple methods and tools at varying stages, and I use this information alongside the wants of the families to decided which puppy pairs best with which family. This does mean families should have a level of flexibility regarding gender or coat color. I will do my best to meet your wants but ultimately temperament matters most! ”

About Rival
Rival is a gentleman through and through. He is calm and docile with everyone he meets, and has the best manners. He is not overly social, very stoic, but enjoys adventure with his people greatly. He loves to play and has a strong propensity for herding work. His show career is still going with him recently earning his GCh. His structure is amazing and is a great example of the standard we aim to breed for in our program.

About Bettie
Bettie is a motherly sweetheart that is full of personality. She adopts every small critter she finds and loves to roll on her back for pets. She is low/medium energy, low drive, and extremely affectionate. Bettie is very social, well mannered, and friendly. Bettie has completed her health testing. She has OFA eyes, Pennhips, Embark DNA, and a UC Davis Merle length test (negative for merle gene). Bettie is now retired and working hard to raise her second and final litter of puppies. We are so grateful and proud of her.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
