Q. & A. with Amber
Why did you start breeding?
Suzy Foss is the founder of Gold Creek Ranch Border Collies and I have learned everything under her tutelage and in the lineage of Mission Falls Ranch as well.
What makes your program special?
My background in nutrition leads me to be very conscientious about the primal nutrition I give to my adult dogs, and to the puppies as they transition to being weaned. I grind my own meat with organs and feed a large portion raw. I frequently offer raw bones to the adults. I cook down bones for collagen rich broth every time a mom is pregnant and during the whole time the pups are with me to give the best nutrition possible to mom and pups. We start Early Neurological Stimulation exercises at Day 3 with the puppies and continue through the sixth week. We supplement adults and pups with NuVet Plus. And because we are a farm we can expose the puppies to all kinds of experiences long before they transition to a furever home. We make sure we get them out in public to meet lots of people from the safety of their well-established relationship with us at home.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
