Meet the breeder

I'm Mary G., the breeder behind Gold River Doxies and Doxies Meet World located in Cleburne, TX. We are a small hobby breeder of Miniature Dachshunds located in North Texas. Our dogs have some very nice bloodlines, and we strive for improvement of the breed and a stable temperament. We are selective with families for pups, because we want it to be a forever match.

Q. & A. with Mary

  • Why did you start breeding?

The first dog that I purchased from a reputable breeder was an exceptional girl. She sailed through 3 levels of obedience, and also through agility classes. I began to have an interest in breeding, after several months of research on the bloodlines that I had in this dog. After much research, we found a mentor, and later a nice stud dog.
  • What makes your program special?

We are a very small, family program. We do not have any kennels on the property. Our stud dog is from Sniffntell Kennel in Canada, and has a pedigree full of very nice names. We do not breed our females to death. Just a few litters, and then a young retirement.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I got my mini dachshund from Mary, and I couldn’t be happier! She truly cares about where her dogs go and made sure my little one was the perfect fit for my home. My girl came so well trained, confident, and with the sweetest temperament — you can tell she was raised with love and care. I can’t recommend Mary enough!

I cannot say enough good things about Gold River Doxies. I met my best friend and life companion Buddy at Gold River . Mary was so kind, helpful and knowledgeable. What I learned from Mary continues to help me today. Buddy is now 8 months old and the vet says he’s a perfectly normal and healthy puppy although I think of him as human as you and me. I highly recommend Mary and Gold River Doxies. If I had it to do all over again i would not hesitate to get a Doxie companion for my sweet Buddy. Signed Bill & Buddy William.standard@att.net

Working with Mary was seamless from the start! She responded right away to my inquiry about her posting, and was responsive throughout the process in sending info and photos/videos. The transfer process was also easy, and she was nice enough to meet me part way.

Mary responded right away when I inquired about her puppy, and answered all my questions thoroughly. I had such a wonderful experience from the beginning. Mary sent updates and pictures on my puppy during the waiting period, and she gave me a lot of tips and suggestions on what to expect when I bring my puppy home. We were so excited when we finally picked up our puppy and meeting Mary in person. Once again Mary was accommodating on the time and location of our pick up. It was a really great experience, and I’m so glad we got our puppy from her.
