Meet the breeder

I'm Madison V., the breeder behind Golden Badger Kennels located in Cheyenne, WY. We raise versatile AKC Dachshunds and Golden Retrievers that excel working, doing sports, and being good pets. Our parent dogs are fully health tested, litters are carefully planned out, puppies are raised on an advanced curriculum, and more.

Q. & A. with Madison

  • Why did you start breeding?

Both Zack and I grew up with a variety of breeds. Zack lived on a ranch for a few years when he was younger and encountered a variety of types of working dogs. I grew up with mostly pets but as a child when visiting my Grandma she would talk about her showing her Bichon Frise's. So once we found the breeds we were passionate about we decided to start our own program so more people can enjoy them!
  • What makes your program special?

We want to do our part to preserve the breeds and produce quality dogs with proper temperament, structure, and health.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include red, brindle, black and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Golden Retriever puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We are thrilled with our golden girl from Golden Badger Kennels. Madison was easy to work with and kept us updated along the way. She also accommodated our schedule when coordinating a time to pick up our puppy. As for the quality of the kennels, you can tell Madison really cares about her dogs. All of the health testing is verifiable, her dogs are titled and mentally sound, she conducts temperament testing to make sure each puppy is matched to the most suitable home, and our girl was clearly well socialized by the time we picked her up. We are absolutely smitten with Lana and would consider purchasing another puppy from Madison.
