Q. & A. with Michelle
Why did you start breeding?
I had a golden retriever growing up, but when in Napa valley (I love wine) my husband and I newly weds at the time discovered the most gorgeous dog! It was like a beautiful white unicorn! It turned out to be a English golden, we have been obsessed ever since.
What makes your program special?
We take the health of our Golden Retrievers very seriously. We know how important it is that our breeding dogs’ health is as good as it can be to ensure the puppies’ health is similarly sound. That's why we have our females do hips, elbows, and eyes. Our male dogs also do these tests in addition to a heart assessment. We also conduct genetic panels on all our dogs to limit the spread of heritable diseases.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
