Susan Landry W.

Breeder of Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Susan Landry W., the breeder behind Golden Gait Australian Shepherds located in Mc Alpin, FL. My first Aussie was obtained in 1975 when was twenty-one years young! I became an ASCA member in 1976. I do limited breedings with my dogs but when I do, I make sure my breeding dogs have clear health tests. I have spay and neuter contracts on all of my pups even though many are show quality.

Q. & A. with Susan Landry

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always been a dog lover, particularly the herding breeds. I bought a male Aussie first, later joined a breed club, and found a wonderful mentor that taught me a lot about bloodlines and structure. I am an AKC judge.
  • What makes your program special?

I have a strong passion for the breed and the perfect home to raise these wonderful dogs. I use the "Puppy Culture" method of raising and training puppies.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
