I'm Sam S., the breeder behind Golden State Mini Doxies located in Modesto, CA. Our main focus at our program is to breed based on temperament and structure. We ultimately want you to have a lifelong best friend that can go on every adventure with you throughout your life!

Why did you start breeding?
As a little girl, I grew up helping my dad raise Labrador Retriever puppies that he bred and showed. Since his passing in 2020, I decided to start breeding in his legacy & especially after falling in love with the dachshund breed. My husband and I got our first dachshund (Blue) in college and everyone fell in love with him and his personality. Blue is the backbone and inspiration of our program!What makes your program special?
We expose our puppies to many different environments to ensure a smooth transition to their furever home. We work on establishing a potty area, exposure to vacuums and kids, and desensitization techniques before your fur baby comes home!What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, gray (blue) and cream, gray (blue) and tan, black and tan, chocolate and cream, blue and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Sam
Sam has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sam partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“The price includes a first round of vaccines and deworming, vet health exam, 1 year health guarantee, and puppy socialization. Price may vary depending on coat color (i.e.: dapple or dilute coats).”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Daisy is our lap dog and cuddle bug. She constantly wants to be with you whether that’s doing things around the house, gardening, watching a movie, etc. She has a tiny and delicate build, only weighing 9lbs. She is AKC registered.

Blue’s personality is loved by everyone. He is a good listener with a calm temperament. He enjoys relaxing in your lap but is always down for a hike/fishing trip! He is AKC registered.

Munch is a female Dachshund. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Sam decided to make her part of their program. Sam has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Parent health testing

Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Animal Genetics Panel, DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
