I'm Gretchen R., the breeder behind GRand Doodles located in Lincoln, NE. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We find so much joy in watching our puppies grow and develop their own unique personalities. We can’t wait for you to meet your next loving and loyal companion!
Q. & A. with Gretchen
Why did you start breeding?
We’ve always had animals in our lives and my husband’s family raised and showed dogs and horses! We started out with having a few litters of Australian Shepherds just for the love of the breed. Then one day I met an Aussiedoodle! Love at first sight! I decided then I wanted to have a very small breeding business. I researched, met with other breeders and started learning about genetic testing!
What makes your program special?
The fact that none of our puppies have ever been, nor will ever be, raised outside of my home! I love being involved with every birth! Raising pups in our home with all the sights and sounds of a home is so important to a well rounded family member! They are cuddled, introduced to kids, other animals and lots of noises! I also start crate and potty training and basic commands!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our Bernedoodle puppies are mini size. Aussiedoodle puppies include mini and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Bernedoodle puppies include sable, tri-color, and phantom. Aussiedoodle puppies include blue merle, red merle, black and white, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience getting our sweet little Bree from Gretchen! Bree is the most cuddly, gentle, and smart puppy—within days she was nearly potty trained and already learning basic commands.
Gretchen made the entire process so smooth and reassuring, from answering all of our (many!) questions before we committed, to keeping us updated and informed during Bree’s journey from Nebraska to Chicago. Bree arrived safely at our door, healthy, happy, and clearly well-socialized.
My friend who adopted Bree’s sister feels exactly the same—we both agree that Gretchen is a true example of an ethical breeder who genuinely loves and cares for her dogs. We are beyond grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful, loving pup!
