I'm Verita G., the breeder behind Gray Wall Dachshunds located in Bates City, MO. We have AKC, Embark DNA tested adults, top veterinary health due to me being a veterinary assistant, and feed parents and puppies high quality food and vitamins. We only have between 2-4 litters a year; therefore we are able to give all of our babies the individual attention that they deserve.
Q. & A. with Verita
Why did you start breeding?
Webpage:
GrayWallDachshunds(dot com)
I learned breeding pugs from my mother at a young age. I then fell in love with the Dachshunds breed over 20 years ago. My first Dachshunds were plagued with IVDD, PRA, and diabetes due to poor breeding. That is why I decided to start breeding genetically healthy Dachshunds and doing my part to better the breed.
What makes your program special?
I am fortunate enough to work at a veterinary clinic; therefore all my puppies get the best of care from day one. We also dna test all of our adult sires and dams for genetic diseases.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, black, chocolate, brindle, blue and cream, black and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, blue and tan, black and cream, fawn (isabella) and cream, fawn (isabella) and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Parent dogs
Abee, mom
Dachshund
About Abee
Abee is our shy, scared of everything but thinks she is big enough to bark at things from behind mom's legs 😆 She has a super soft and shiny black coat with thin hair. Her parents were both between 11-14 pounds, with one short and one long haired, and Abee stays around 13 pounds. She always throws the most beautiful pups and is an excellent mom!
AKC, purebred, DNA health tested for genetic conditions and carriers one marker of pra but is not effected; she is clear of the 200+ other Embark tested diseases. My adults also get a full CBC comprehensive blood work up from my licensed veterinarian before breeding to check for things like diabetes, low or high blood counts, liver+kidney disease, etc.
Finn, dad
Dachshund
About Finn
Finnegan is always happy to see people and loves going on car rides 🤗 He has a full, beautiful coat, throws the most amazing colored babies and loves playing with all the puppies! He is a solid 15 pounds, with perfect chest, head and skeleton/feet formation. Both of his parents were between 13-16 pounds and long haired.
AKC, purebred, DNA health tested for genetic conditions and is pra clear as well as clear of all 200+ other Embark tested diseases. My adults also get a full CBC comprehensive blood work up from my licensed veterinarian before breeding to check for things like diabetes, low or high blood counts, liver+kidney disease, etc.
Raynie, mom
Dachshund
About Raynie
Raynie is a sweetheart, kind of shy but will yell at you if you try and steal her toys and food! 😜 She has a silky, all chocolate coat, has always stayed under 11 pounds like both of her parents. She has both a long and short haired parent. Raynie is a great mom and loves to show off her babies!
AKC, purebred, DNA health tested for genetic conditions and carries one copy of pra but is not affected and is clear of all 200+ other Embark tested diseases. My adults also get a full CBC comprehensive blood work up from my licensed veterinarian before breeding to check for things like diabetes, low or high blood counts, liver+kidney disease, etc.
Auggie, dad
Dachshund
About Auggie
We call him our pound puppy because he has the drama eyes perfected! He's fluffy, soft, with curly-wavy hair and so snuggly 🥰 He's a sweetheart in every way! His parents were both under 11 pounds but he's fluctuating between 12-13 lbs.
He is AKC, purebred, DNA health tested for genetic conditions and clear of pra and all 200+ other Embark tested diseases. My adults also get a full CBC comprehensive blood work up from my licensed veterinarian before breeding to check for things like diabetes, low or high blood counts, liver+kidney disease, etc.
Evie, mom
Dachshund
About Evie
Evie is a complete princess! She knows she's cute and spoiled lol 😆 A true miniature at 9 pounds, with her daddy Finn's gorgeous chest and hair that is really starting to fill in; and momma Remy's size, color and personality 🩷💙 A true sweetheart mixed with a little naughty nugget 😜
Evie carries one copy of pra but it's not affected... She is an ee cream and also carries chocolate, piebold, dilute and points.
Remy, mom
Dachshund
About Remy
Remy is a female Dachshund over 5 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Verita decided to make her part of their program. Verita has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.
Oaklee, mom
Dachshund
About Oaklee
Oaklee is our silly girl, we call her our wrecking ball because she loves to jump in our laps out of the blue and has zero personal space! 🤣 She also can't control her licker but is super sweet and loving! She is a chocolate based red piebold with ticking and weighs between 14-15 pounds; she has both a "tween" 16 lb mother and a mini 11 lb father.
AKC, purebred, DNA health tested for genetic conditions and clear of pra and all 200+ other Embark tested diseases. My adults also get a full CBC comprehensive blood work up from my licensed veterinarian before breeding to check for things like diabetes, low or high blood counts, liver+kidney disease, etc.

Every step has been very easy with good dog and the breeder. She was very responsive to questions, and once we picked a puppy, she shared several updates. When we picked Toby up she provided information about the breed, family genealogy, etc. She also gifted us toys and food, which were very helpful when Toby first came home. He is a very healthy, happy little guy and love him very much. Our experience was even better than I had expected.
