I'm Linda R., the breeder behind Great Spirit Aussies located in Surprise, AZ. Our litters are bred to breed standards.
I provide AKC/ASCA individual dog registration applications to the puppy buyer.
I am a member of an AKC National Breed Club.
I health test the parents and the puppies. Our dogs like to be with their people, spoiled, and loved. Great Spirit dogs may enjoy training for agility, fly-ball, competition obedience & rally, or perhaps herding.
Most of all Great Spirit dogs are fun to live with and enjoy their people. They make great companion pets. If you are interested in one of our puppies or retired show dogs, please email our Questionnaire.
Q. & A. with Linda
Why did you start breeding?
As small hobby breeders of Australian Shepherds, we purchased our first Aussie in 2007 and we have been actively showing in AKC/ASCA Breed Conformation since 2008. Our beautiful Aussies are outstanding representatives of the breed; healthy, sound, structurally correct, athletic, with sweet devoted temperaments.
We breed an occasional litter, usually keeping an Australian Shepherd for our own use in competition.
Our dogs have trained to compete in agility, conformation, competition obedience, herding, flyball, and rally. The focus of our kennel has become breed ring competition. Each of our Aussies has a unique personality and disposition. It is our aim to provide the best "job" and home for each of our Australian shepherds. We love our Aussies and we do thank you for previewing our correct & colorful, Australian shepherds.
Great Spirit Aussies are part of our family. At this time showing in conformation is our hobby and passion. We are training, showing and carefully, considering suitable opportunities to breed to our champion lines of Australian shepherds in the future.
What makes your program special?
We offer high quality companions & potential champions. All our breeding stock are DNA (parentage verified) OFA (hips, elbows), OFA (eyes) clear, OFA Dentition (teeth), and Animal Genetic Aussie Panel 7 tests: (CD, CEA, CMR1, DM, HC, MDR1, PRA-prcd) . All pets are sold with limited AKC/ASCA registration on spay/neuter agreements.
Great Spirit does not sell breeding rights to companion pets.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
