I'm Sarah H., the breeder behind Greener Hills Pugs located in Cedar Rapids, IA. Esther and George are beloved family pets who live in our home with our children and other pets. We focus on raising healthy, well-socialized Pugs. Both parents have completed AKC DNA Health Testing and DNA Profiling. Puppies are AKC registered, vet checked, and receive their first vaccinations.

Why did you start breeding?
My love for Pugs began when my uncle owned a couple of Pugs while I was growing up. Their affectionate personalities, playful nature, and wonderful companionship left a lasting impression on me. That early experience sparked a lifelong appreciation for the breed and eventually led me to begin raising Pugs myself in 2003.What makes your program special?
We are a small, family-based breeding program focused on health, temperament, and breed quality. Our puppies are raised in our home, well socialized, and accustomed to everyday family life. Both parents come from champion bloodlines and have completed AKC DNA Health Testing and DNA Profiling. We take pride in raising healthy, happy puppies that are ready to become cherished family companions.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Sarah
Sarah has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Sarah partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“We carefully match puppies with approved families based on temperament, personality, and lifestyle fit. Puppy selections are made at approximately 6 weeks of age, once temperaments can be better evaluated.”
Price
“All puppies include AKC registration, health guarantee, vet exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and early socialization. Select puppies may also include a microchip. A non-refundable deposit will hold your selected puppy. The deposit will be applied to the total purchase price, with the remaining balance due before or at pickup.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. About Ester
Ester has the classic fawn coloring that Pugs are known for, featuring a beautiful golden coat, smooth fur, and a striking black mask. Despite being smaller in stature, she actually outweighs the sire thanks to her sturdy, muscular build. Ester has the sweetest, calmest personality and loves nothing more than snuggling with us in bed each night and spending her days relaxing on the couch. We often joke that she's been a little old lady from day one! Her favorite treats are chicken and eggs, affectionately known in our home as "bird" and "baby bird."

About George
George is an exceptionally sweet boy with a gentle, affectionate personality. He has a handsome, sturdy build with broad shoulders and a beautiful fluffy black coat that shines in the sunlight. While he has the impressive appearance of an adult male Pug, he's still a puppy at heart and loves playing fetch and spending time with his family. Unlike many Pugs, George is surprisingly quiet and rarely snores. Whether he's going for a walk, playing in the yard, or relaxing at home, George is happiest when he's with his people.
