Meet the breeder

I'm Susan G., the breeder behind Grissom’s Aussies located in Hayward, CA. Meet the mother-daughter duo: Susan and MacKenzie. We pride ourselves in breeding to the AKC and ASCA breed standards with health and genetics in mind. All of our pups go home well-socialized. We are confident that each one will become a treasured family member!

Q. & A. with Susan

  • Why did you start breeding?

Because of our dedication to the physical and mental health of these incredible dogs, as well as their temperament, we breed to pass these traits down to future generations. Every litter is always a little different, but it is so fulfilling to see the different personalities and such a joy and challenge to hand-raise each puppy. We love watching them blossom!
  • What makes your program special?

We take responsible breeding very seriously. As breeders, we are stewards of the future of the Australian Shepherd, so we are careful to always maintain ethical breeding practices. We provide our buyers with extensive knowledge on the breed, our puppy parents, and each individual puppy. We love to share our education and expertise with others and are available for lifetime breeder support!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We are so glad we found Susan. She has been so responsive throughout our process. She has such great ethics as far as care of the puppies and adoption as well as ensuring they are healthy in every way. She adds some amenities such as a puppy package full of information, first shots, chipping, and registration. We couldn’t have asked for more! We appreciate Good Dog for introducing us to her.
