I'm Amanda H., the breeder behind Happy Shih Tzu Homes located in Normal, IL. We are specialized breeders, focused solely on Shih Tzus. We are an in-home breeding program. All of our babies stay at home with us. They live, eat and sleep with us. We believe every baby that we help bring into this world is a part of our family and is treated as such.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We got into breeding because we love the Shih Tzu breed. Each baby is so different and their colors and personalities can range so much, however, they all keep their sweet dispositions. This quality made us fall in love with the Shih Tzu breed and want to provide loving pets for others so they could experience the same joy that we do everyday.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our program is special and stands out because we believe every baby that we help bring into this world is a part of our family. Therefore, we offer forever rehoming for any of our puppies. This means if you ever get to a point where you are thinking of giving one of our babies to a shelter, we ask that you reach out to us. We will take the baby back and find a new loving home for them. We aren’t in the breeding business to make money, we are in the business to provide quality loving pets.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include black, liver, gold, liver and white, gold and white, brindle and white, black and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Amanda

Amanda has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $1,700 - $2,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price include a health guarantee, AKC papers, first round of shots and deworming and socialization of puppies with Adults, children, elderly adults and other dogs. Puppies pricing ranges based on color, sex and limited or full AKC paperwork.”

Contract & health guarantee

Amanda may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Amanda offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Amanda directly.
