I'm Shawna L., the breeder behind Hart's Pembroke Welsh Corgis located in Kimball, MI. Our Dogs are all thoroughly health tested and have OFA CHIC numbers at the time of breeding. We breed for health, temperament and compliance with the AKC standard. We actively show in conformation events. A puppy from us will come with our lifetime support and knowledge to help you with your puppy.

Why did you start breeding?
I was born into it! I am blessed to have had my grandmother and mother as mentors all of my young life and to continue their dedication to the breed and preserve this breed for another generation to enjoy.
What makes your program special?
Our breeding is a compilation of some of the finest lines from Europe, Canada and the US. Not only are our dogs genetically very healthy, they accomplish great things in the show ring.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
