Meet the breeder

I'm Sophia, the breeder behind Haus of Hound located in Brookfield, WI. We raise each Doberman puppy with love, structure, and thoughtful care. Our in-home program emphasizes early socialization and sound temperaments—building strong foundations for confident, family-ready companions and offering lifelong support.

Q. & A. with Sophia

  • Why did you start breeding?

After years of admiring the Doberman’s intelligence and loyalty, I welcomed my first as both a companion and protector. The bond we built inspired me to learn everything I could about health, temperament, and breeding. I started this program to share the joy of a well-bred Doberman with families who value both heart and purpose.
  • What makes your program special?

What makes my program special is the intentional balance of structure, affection, and purpose. Puppies are raised in my home with early socialization, exposure to family life, and a foundation in confidence-building—creating Dobermans who are loyal, loving companions and capable natural protectors.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and rust, blue and rust, and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Working with Sophia was amazing! I trusted her throughout the entire process because she was easy to communicate with and helped us understand a lot about what to expect being first time Doberman owners. It truly felt like I was a part of the early weeks of our pups lives and that was really nice as someone who had been waiting so long to get a Doberman and was really anxious but also excited! Health wise (which with how a lot of breeders can be nowadays was very important to us), our puppy was in perfect shape. No health concerns and she adjusted very well into our house. She is coming up on 9 months now and she is still very healthy and doing very well. She’s growing into a loving (and high energy of course) pup. I really can’t imagine getting a Doberman elsewhere, and my partner and I have even spoken that when the day comes to get a second we absolutely will be working with Sophia! You feel like your apart of the Doberman family working with her.

Where do I even begin? Sophia has been absolutely incredible throughout this entire process. From day one, she has been supportive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I was very hesitant at first processing payments through Good Dog, but I can confidently say now that there was no need for any hesitation. From tail docking, dewclaw removal, ear cropping, vaccinations and daily updates, Sophia truly went above and beyond. She provided thorough information every step of the way and was always timely in her communication. It’s clear how deeply she cares for her puppies. From the very beginning, she recognized our puppy by the name we had chosen, which brought me so much comfort knowing she wanted a smooth transition just as much as we did. We were sent home with everything Bruce needed for his first few days transition to his lifelong home, his formal contracts, his blanket, food, favorite plush toy and a chew toy. She was nothing short of professional in every way. Down to every detail, Sophia was a joy to work with! The pickup process was completely stress-free! Bringing Bruce home was such an easy and positive experience thanks to Sophia. Even after pickup, her check-ins have made me feel supported and reassured throughout the “new puppy” phase. She is always just a phone call or text away! We love our puppy Bruce so much and will continue to give him all the love and attention he deserves. It’s obvious he was given the very best care from day one, and for that we are so thankful. If you’re considering getting a puppy from Sophia, you wont regret it! ~Libbie Womochil

After having to put down my best friend at 19 years of having him by my side, I said I would never get another dog. But after two years I looked toward his ashes in the corner of my room and remembered all the happy memories, I looked at Good Dog for the first time. While scrolling, I found Jet who was born three days prior and could not turn away. I contacted Sophia and got a reply within minutes and put down a deposit. Sophia was really helpful in to letting me know what the process was gonna be like. She was great I taking pictures at all of the milestones the litter reached. And I am thankful to have been able to watch Jet grow up to the shark I received at 9 weeks. Sophia was great a posting videos and I was happy to see the love and attention Jet and his brothers and sisters got every day. I have had him for almost a week and don't regret anything. He is so handsome and is learning quickly. I can put my hand in his food bowl while he's eating and he shows no aggression. He loves attention and loves to be right next to me. After the experience with Haus of Hounds, I would recommend Sophia to raise your pup.
