I'm Glen F., the breeder behind Havenwood Labradors located in Bella Vista, AR. Chocolate English Labrador puppies for family wanting a pet. Koda is our dame who was born on April 4, 2023. This is her first litter. The sire, Stoney, is from Mistywoods Labradors, in south central Missouri. Both Dam and Sire have AKC Registration.
Q. & A. with Glen
Why did you start breeding?
This is our first litter. We contacted Mistywoods for advice and for stud service (Stoney is an excellent Sire). We also consulted with Sunny Dazes, where we got Koda in 2023.
What makes your program special?
We are not professional breeders, Koda is our little girl. She is the third chocolate lab I have owned, but the first to be bred. She will only have one more litter, at most.
Since she is at our home, she is part of our daily life, as the puppies will be until they are homed.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are chocolate. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Yesterday, the puppies turned 7 weeks old. Today is their first day on dry kibble. They did not disappoint.
The pic is from a couple of days ago. Just before their mass movement to the deck, where they spent their day … after enjoying breakfast.

Litter update on 16 Sept. •
After turning 6 weeks old, the puppies had their first adventure … a trip to the veterinary clinic for their Vet Check, initial vaccinations and deworming. They all did very well traveling there and back, and during the checkup.
Hard to believe they will soon be heading to their new homes. We feel all the new owners will be fantastic. Some of the puppies might even be spoiled … a little bit.

Puppies are 5 weeks old. They are moving from puppy gruel once a day to puppy mush twice a day. They still are very polite when eating together.
Some of the puppies have solve the mystery of the doggie door. They are very good problem solvers.

Today the puppies are 4 weeks old. They are running a bit, starting to play with each other and they like to follow me around. Of course, when mama comes around, they are still very focused on her.
Tomorrow we begin weaning, starting them on puppy gruel. I wonder how they will do. I’m sure they will be eating fine within a day or two. Mama will clean them up.

About Koda
Koda has been with us since she was 4 months old. She comes to us from Sunny Daze Labradors, in northwest Arkansas.
She has been a delight for us. She is always happy when we come home, greeting us with excitement. Maybe she just knows she's about to get a walk.
