I'm Tammy B., the breeder behind Hawk Hill Australian Shepherds located in Covington, TX. We are a small farm that raises quality, intelligent and Stocky Standard Australian Shepherds. Our goal is to always improve the breed. We love their intelligence, loyalty, and abilities. Our Aussies are truly family members raised in our home. They are allowed to run in our pastures and swim in the tank.
Q. & A. with Tammy
Why did you start breeding?
I studied and sought out other breeders as mentors. And continue to seek their opinions and ideas for my program. Growing up, we raised Durocs, chickens, cattle, etc. I have been raising animals all my life.
What makes your program special?
We raise large genetically tested Australian Shepherds that make great family pets. We strive to have a good mix of great temperament and herding instinct. I have a few with higher drive and stronger herding instincts. I match those puppies with families who want a dog with some herding ability. Our dogs are not living in kennels. They have a huge yard and 20 acres to run.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
