I'm Jes R., the breeder behind HCR Great Danes located in Granby, MO. Our dogs are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. We are dedicated to achieving excellence in our program, and are very, very proud of our dogs, both adults and puppies. We OFA test, and are AKC Breeders with H.E.A.R.T. Our dogs are of Full European lineage.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I loved this breed so much, I knew I had to share them with everyone I know! It has quickly become an absolute passion, and I love producing puppies who integrate so seamlessly into their new homes. I still am in contact with families of the very first litter of pups I produced, and have several families who have multiple pups from us. Once you own an HCR Dane you'll never be without one!

  • What makes your program special?

    I work from home, and my dogs are with me 24/7 - they are truly members of our family. We do all age appropriate health testing and are doing our absolute best to raise dogs with longevity and good health who are also wonderful family pets! I embrace both traditional and non traditional coloring as long as temperment and conformation are not compromised.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include blue and white, fawn, blue, harlequin, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,500 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation , Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    Jes was amazing help on everything and super patient with me, whenever I had a question she answered it quickly! She gave me weekly photo updates that I was always looking forward to and let me see my pup when week 6 hit and my oh my was my girl tiny! If I ever decide to get another Great Dane which is super likely I will be going through her again for sure! It was a long wait but super worth it and my girl is happy and healthy because of her!     If you’re looking for a Great Dane I have to say HCR Great Danes is the best! My journey with Jess was so wonderful,professional and easy! She will give you all the information you need very fast, she sends you pictures and updates of your poppy till the end. Shes not just a breeder she really puts her heart to give other family the biggest joy,a friend a companion. Jess gave us this beautiful poppy and made my twins so happy it was a dream come true.     Jes was awesome! The entire process went smoothly. She sent weekly pictures of the pups which we absolutely appreciated. I adopted a pup for my 4 yr old son. He absolutely loves him already.     We reached out to Jes after doing a ton of research about different breeders mostly centered around health & temperament. She had up to date health records of all her Danes and that informed us that she actually cares about her puppies 😊 From the moment we first interacted, to when we put down a deposit, to when we got our dream dog - she was all the way invested in our experience. Jes is super communicative, she answered all my anxious questions around puppy care and provided great advice on what to feed & supplement as well. Jes also sent us weekly updates of our puppy as he grew up until the moment he left for his permanent home - making us feel part of his journey from birth ❤️ Our puppy had amazing temperament - took us 3 days to crate train - hasn’t had an accident in the house since he got here. The vet loved him, mentioning how calm he was (and he was super healthy), and that he was already halfway though his vaccination at 8 weeks! Even though HCR is halfway across the country from us - we wouldn’t have picked another breeder!

    I've been wanting to leave a review for a while now; trying to find all the right words, but the truth is, there's just not enough good things I could possibly say about Jes, HCR, and her dogs/puppies (but I'll try). From the very first message, to texts back and forth after purchasing our puppy, she's been nothing but helpful. Quick to respond, answering every question and then some. Sending pictures, videos, health and development updates. My husband and I had lost our previous Dane (different breeder) due to complications of mega esophagus. We were heartbroken. When we decided it was time to add another Dane into our lives, we started researching and messaging several breeders near and far. We were very impressed with the ad/listing Jes had posted. After reaching out to her, we knew this was the breeder we wanted to work with, and I'm so glad we did! With the exception of our last Great Dane, who came from a local breeder, all of our other pets have been adopted from nearby shelters. We were a little apprehensive about buying a puppy several hours away, and unsure how the process of purchasing and pick-up worked. Jes made everything so easy, and helped us every step of the way. She was very accommodating, making sure she was available the day and time we could make the drive out there. When we first got there, we were greeted by several impressive dogs. It was clear they were all happy, and well taken care of; living their best lives. She was gracious enough to invite us into her home. Letting us meet her family, both human and dog. As for the puppy we brought home, I'm literally crying typing this review, thinking about how happy we are with her. We're so appreciative of all the care and hard work that went into the breeding of and upbringing of these puppies. Making sure they're healthy, well adjusted, and giving them such a great headstart on life in preparation to go to their forever homes. Even our vet, who sees a lot of dogs and puppies, couldn't stop talking about what a great example of this breed our puppy is, in both appearance and personality. We couldn't agree more. We're so happy with our puppy. If you're lucky enough to find yourself in the position to buy a dog from Jes, do it! You won't be disappointed. I can't recommend Jes and her HCR pups enough!
