Heart of America Whoodles

Meet the breeder

I'm April D., the breeder behind Heart of America Whoodles located in Saint Louis, MO. Our main mission is to donate as many puppies as we can to veterans to be trained as service dogs.

Q. & A. with April

  • Why did you start breeding?

As a healthcare worker for over 25 years and a natural dog love,r I knew that I could provide healthy, well adjusted and beautiful puppies to Veterans, school therapy dogs and into pet homes.
  • What makes your program special?

We are not focused on profit but on the impact that our puppies are making in the world around us. We donate a good portion of our puppies to Veterans to be trained as service dogs and to educators to be trained as full-time school therapy dogs. It is our goal to break even each year financially and each puppy sold helps us continue our mission.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Poodle puppies include toy and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.
