I'm Ashlyn T., the breeder behind Heart of Honey Miniature Dachshunds located in Cascade, VA. At Heart of Honey, A dog is family. All of our puppies are raised in-house alongside my own family, as it should be. We are dedicated to the health of our pets and are hard-focused on the betterment of the breed. Temperament, confirmation, and genetic health are our specialty!

Why did you start breeding?
I grew up in a family that bred Chihuahuas with a focus on health and temperament, and I helped raise puppies from a young age. After 21 years with the breed, I later discovered Dachshunds. Years of research and passion for improving the breed led me to begin my own breeding journey in 2024.
What makes your program special?
My program is rooted in education, ethical breeding, health-focused genetics, temperament, and confirmations. I carefully research Dachshund health risks and aim to produce the best dogs possible while educating new owners. My goal is to create healthy, well-adjusted puppies with a strong foundation and a bright future.
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include piebald, cream, chocolate, brindle, blue and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Ashlyn

Ashlyn has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Ashlyn partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $600 non-refundable deposit and between $3,200 - $3,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

Valkyrie is AKC Registered. She is extremely sweet. She has a shy temperament at first, only to demand all the love and holding once she warms up to you. She is precious and so very loved. Valkyrie is Embark Tested. She is a PRA carrier for 1-4 and clear for 5. - Valkyrie is scheduled to get her OFAs completed in December.

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Spine (OFA, FCI), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
