I'm Mary & Mike F., the breeder behind HeartSong Australian Shepherds located in Modesto, CA. Thank you for your interest in HeartSong! Since 2004, we have loved and raised this very loyal and versatile breed. Our dogs live in our home, go on vacation with us and are cared for all of their lives. We play with them and they get a lot of exercise.

Why did you start breeding?
We stumbled upon a mini Aussie boy named Blue in 2002, and once we realized how amazing, loyal, happy and intelligent this breed was, we sought out a few mentors who helped us develop a devoted base of returning puppy parents. Blue was a great ambassador to the breed. We have learned a lot, continue to grow, and are currently showing a new addition to our canine familyWhat makes your program special?
We practice Early Neurological Stimulation on Day 2 of life, and puppy culture protocols and really work hard at raising a confident forever family member for you.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

“We register the litter with AKC and will provide your puppy with many extras Tails snd dewclaws removed by our veterinarian in a safe and sterile environment. Vet check again at 6 weeks of age. Deposit is fully refundable if you do not pick a puppy from this litter. We prefer a check to hold your place and will not cash until you choose a puppy.”

About Meeka
Meeka is a female Miniature American Shepherd. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Mary & Mike decided to make her part of their program. Mary & Mike has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Chondrodystrophy and IVDD Risk (CDDY-IVDD), DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
