Meet the breeder

I'm Loran H., the breeder behind Heathens Howe'nds located in Sierra Vista Southeast, AZ. Both parents have been genetically tested and are 100% AKC registered basset hounds. They are raised around other bassets as well as thier adopted family members including cats, and farm animals. They constantly are doted upon. Raised to be loving caring and ready to be your furever family member.

Q. & A. with Loran

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the basset hound breed. My old dog was going downhill, and my wife knew that I always wanted a basset hound. So she got me, my first basset hound, for our anniversary. Then everyone in the family wanted one.
  • What makes your program special?

Our babies are our family members and they are spoiled to death. They are also kept away from anything that pose a danger. This includes only family members going into the puppy kennels.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include mahogany and white and black brown and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
