Meet the breeder

I'm Beth S., the breeder behind Henotic Homestead's Shetland Sheepdogs located in Lebanon, TN. Our dogs all live inside of our home and are treated as our loving pets. They are as much a part of our family as their puppies will be of yours. Their puppies are raised in our home around our 3 children, other dogs, and cats. We breed for health and temperament, with a focus on Emotional Support.

Q. & A. with Beth

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always been the person that people have called when their dog or cat went into labor. I ran my own rescue in 2006 bottle feeding orphaned kittens. We started out hobby breeding our Great Pyrenees in 2014 and later our Cairn Terrier. It wasn't until we discovered Shetland Sheepdogs that we decided we wanted to breed full time. We haven't looked back since. This is our breed!
  • What makes your program special?

ESA & SD prospects are rare in shelties, but not for our puppies. Most become amazing companions, many offer emotional support & several become service dogs. The health and happiness of our puppies is extremely important. We offer lifetime support of your new puppy. We are there for you for any questions you may have, any time. We will take back the dog as a surrender, no matter the age or reason.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable and white, sable merle and white, blue merle and white, blue merle white and tan, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We feel fortunate to have found Beth, she has been a pleasure to work with on the adoption of our little Mckenna. Beth has a wealth of knowledge on the raising and nurturing of these beautiful puppies and has done an incredible job of both keeping us updated and answering our many questions. It's been a week since bringing Mckenna home and she is proving to be a healthy, playful, and loving new member of our family.

Such a great experience with Beth! She was very responsive, shared photos during the 8 weeks before we could pick up our puppy, provided valuable information, and was very flexible working with us to coordinate the pick up!

Working with Beth was nothing short of a memorable moment to say the least. Since the day we inquired about our puppy to the day we met our puppy at the airport. She has been amazing with response times to questions and breed knowledge. We look forward to many quality years of companionship with our newest addition from Henotic Homestead Shetland Sheepdogs. 10/10 would recommend anyone looking for beautiful healthy Sheltie puppies take a look at this astonishing program she has established!

We had a wonderful experience with Beth and couldn’t recommend her enough. She is extremely knowledgeable about the breed, and it’s very clear how much she truly loves and cares for her dogs. Beth was prompt, responsive, and always happy to answer our questions throughout the process. We received regular updates on our puppy, including pictures, which made the wait so much easier. The pickup process was easy and seamless, and we were provided with extensive information on how to best support Marshall during his transition to our home. Marshall has been an incredible addition to our family and came home nearly potty trained, which was such a huge bonus. He has a fantastic temperament and transitioned seamlessly into our home. He is well adjusted to cats and children and has been absolutely wonderful with our toddler. We are so grateful for Beth and the care she put into raising such a well-rounded puppy
