I'm Roy and Shana H., the breeder behind Hensley Homestead Dachshunds located in Wallingford, KY. Our passion is raising healthy & happy dachshunds. Your future puppy will be social, healthy, happy, loving & ready for adventures. We are home-based & dedicated to bringing high-quality dachshunds into the homes & hearts of their forever families.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    When we brought home our first Dachshund, we fell in love and knew we wanted to share that joy with others. Since then, we’ve devoted ourselves to learning everything we can about responsible breeding, from health and temperament to genetics—always striving to raise the happiest, healthiest puppies possible.

  • What makes your program special?

    What makes our program special is the love & care we give each puppy—from birth to going home. We raise healthy, social, quality Dachshunds who are confident & ready to join your family. Each pup is part of our home, raised with heart. We also offer safe, reliable ground transport to make bringing your puppy home easy. Dachshunds are loyal, loving, & devoted—and we’re proud to share that.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, chocolate, brindle, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Roy and Shana

Roy and Shana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Roy and Shana partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $1,750 - $2,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.
