Meet the breeder

I'm Nicole J., the breeder behind Heritage Creek Preservation Farm located in Kamiah, ID. Our puppies become integral members of our family. They’re a daily part of everything we do until they’re ready to join their forever families. They are exposed to kids and livestock and all of the noises that come on a working farm! They are well socialized and make wonderful furry companions!

Q. & A. with Nicole

  • Why did you start breeding?

When our daughter wanted a dog after our old Chocolate Lab passed, we asked her to research breeds to find a fit for our family. We did not realize at the time how much we would love Australian Shepherds! One Aussie became two....then three...and our Aussie family slowly grew! Aussies are amazingly loyal and intelligent creatures, and we strive to raise well-rounded pups for others to enjoy!
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are family! By day, they are helpful companions that move sheep and play with children. At night, they enjoy cuddling with their humans and relaxing from their full day! Our pups are equally cared for and we give them as much stimulation and exposure as possible in order to help shape a well-rounded dog.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Nicole was great about giving information and updated pictures throughout our time waiting to get Kahlo. She raises healthy working dogs—our vet said our puppy was very healthy. We love our sweet and rowdy Aussie! She’s picking up on training cues quickly, loves her people, and is a fun puppy.
