Breeder of Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Vivian B., the breeder behind HHK (Hot House Kennel) located in Cheyenne, WY. Hot House Kennel offers high-quality Standard and Miniature sized Australian Shepherd puppies that are excellent companions. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, conformation, athleticism, intelligence, and companionship. These are high drive dogs that like lots of outdoor activity. We would be honored to connect you with your next beloved pup!

Q. & A. with Vivian

  • Why did you start breeding?

In 2009, after our older dog passed away, my husband said he would like a smaller Aussie. I found an excellent Mini Aussie breeder and purchased a male. When she delivered the pup to us, she saw our home, ranch, and that we had and trained show horses. Michelle asked if I had ever considered show dogs and if I was interested in co-owning. She explained it all and I went on to co-own a pup with her that we showed to a Championship with performance titles! Later, after testing and OFA certifications, we bred him. I went on to show a son to a Champion with many performance titles and an MVA win at MASCA (the Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of America) nationals. This boy is now registered as a Miniature American with AKC with several AKC performance titles. I have collected/frozen semen from him and he is neutered. I have since gone on to Standard Aussies, and I even imported a great female from Russia who is now a GCH CH (Grand Champion) with performance titles! I have a daughter of hers, who will begin her show career this year. My small Aussies are still with me, and all are spayed/neutered.
  • What makes your program special?

I will remain a small breeder who will only have females in my program. I want to be able to breed my females to any dog that I feel will improve their conformation and temperament. I do not like rehoming, so buying a male that may not work for my program is not really an option for me. I have done that and do not want to do it again. This way, I can choose a dog after seeing what he has done to prove himself, see his adult conformation, temperament, and what he produces. I am very passionate about what I do and what I aim to achieve as a breeder. I work with passion and integrity, and I truly want what's best for each one of my dogs!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Vivian

Vivian has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies are dewormed, have their first and/or second vaccinations, are microchipped, and are raised in my home with Puppy Culture. AKC registration is included and paid for by me. I do not accept deposits until my female receives an ultrasound, and I prefer to wait until the pups are born. Deposits are put into a separate account and not used until the puppy is in its new home. It makes it easier to refund a deposit if I do not have what the buyer is searching for (show/performance prospect) or if I don’t have a pup that will suit a buyer's family situation.”

Contract & health guarantee

Vivian may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Vivian offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don’t hesitate to reach out to Vivian directly.
