Meet the breeder

I'm Barb L., the breeder behind Hidden River Retrievers located in West Salem, WI. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament with a focus on conformation, athleticism, and intelligence. We are dedicated to providing our families with wonderful healthy companions!

Q. & A. with Barb

  • Why did you start breeding?

I grew up with Labs. My family had a litter of Chocolates when I was about 10. Since that time, I have always wanted to have litters. My 1st girl, Maggie was a birthday present from my husband, and she started us down this wonderful adventure!
  • What makes your program special?

We are a very small breeder, only having litters once every year to two years. Our girls are our family, and we are dedicated to enriching their lives as well as producing healthy pups with great temperaments for our families.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
