Meet the breeder

I'm Jessica E., the breeder behind High Desert Companions located in Dolan Springs, AZ. Our focus is creating the finest companions possible. We do this through breeding AKC, UKC, and ASDR parents that are throughly health and temperament tested. Our puppies come from champion lines and raised using science backed methods used by the military to create working dogs and service dogs.

Q. & A. with Jessica

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got our first Poodle years ago and fell in love with the breed. They are incredibly intelligent, loving, playful, and have a drive to learn and complete tasks. After I retired, I wanted a small business that contributed positively to others, while being something that I enjoy. Taking my experience in managing businesses and animal husbandry I decided to invest in showdog poodles and Aussies.
  • What makes your program special?

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), Early Scent Introduction (ESI), Puppy Culture Breeder, Avidog Breeder, Biosensor routine (Super dogs), Early life documentation for future service dogs, Champion lines, Up to date vaccinations, Basic training foundation: sit, come, and potty training.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Poodle puppies include toy and miniature sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Poodle puppies include apricot, black, blue, cream, red, white, parti, and phantom. Toy Australian Shepherd puppies include black tri, blue merle, red merle, and red tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Jessica was so responsive and knowledgeable and was quick to answer all of my many questions about her pup. In addition to the parents' test results, she was even able to share a dog "personality test" that she had on him and his brother that turned out to be quite accurate! We visited the pup once to see if we were allergic before deciding on him. We got him at 10.5 weeks and he has been a dream! He has such a nice demeanor, so sweet and cuddly, and he is very very smart. He was so well socialized, great with people and kids, not at all sensitive to noises, already crate trained. Potty training him has been a breeze, he has no issues being in his crate, he is so easy to train and has already learned to sit and lie down at under 12 weeks. Even the vet said it was the best puppy he has seen! We are really happy we connected with Jessica and feel so lucky to have a pup from one of her litters!
