Meet the breeder

I'm Mary S., the breeder behind High Sierra Labrador Retrievers located in North Highlands, CA. Every puppy we raise is adored as part of our family from birth. Our puppies will complete your home, your family, and your heart! Our dogs have proven to be the greatest companions to our family. We started breeding to contribute to breed betterment and to share smart and loveable puppies with other families.

Q. & A. with Mary

  • Why did you start breeding?

My husband and I are Home Breeders. Hey, I married into a Lab Family! For me it's been 25 years. 2 Litters during that time by two different sets of parents. My husband has had labs since he was 10 yrs old.
  • What makes your program special?

We strongly support keeping the Champion Bloodline in tact. As an example: We live in Sacramento, CA and yet found the best stud for our girl. We tried to do A-I but her test showed when was ready to breed in two days. We packed and left for Idaho which is where Recon lives. We chose him because of his pedigree of Champions, especially Hall of Famers and thousands of field titles. The result was exceptionally beautiful puppies. Worth it all because you will get the best puppy you can find.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Mary is a wonderful breeder who gives so much love & attention to her pups. Our Coal is healthy, happy and loves everyone. He started retrieving shortly after we brought him home at 8 weeks.

Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
