I'm Heather F., the breeder behind Hilda’s Teenie Weenies located in Indian Trail, NC. My dogs are raised inside our home as cherished members of our family. I am extremely passionate about my breeding program and focus on producing Miniature Dachshunds with excellent health, temperament, and structure. Health testing is a very important part of my program. My adult dogs undergo extensive genetic testing through multiple panels, along with breed-appropriate OFA testing. I carefully select each pairing with the goal of producing healthy, well-structured puppies with wonderful temperaments. My dogs and puppies are truly my fur babies, and I put so much love and care into every litter I raise.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My love for Dachshunds is what first inspired me to get into breeding. I absolutely fell in love with the breed—their big personalities, loyalty, and loving nature. As my passion grew, I wanted to build a responsible breeding program focused on health, temperament, and structure. What started from a love for my own dogs has grown into something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I truly love raising each litter and watching my puppies become part of wonderful families.

  • What makes your program special?

    What makes my program special is the love and care we put into every puppy. Our dogs are family first and raised inside our home. Health is a top priority, with extensive genetic panels and breed-appropriate OFA testing on our adults. Every pairing is carefully planned with health, temperament, and structure in mind. Our puppies are raised hands-on, dewormed, vaccinated, vet-checked, and well-socialized before joining their new families.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, fawn (isabella), gray (blue) and tan, fawn (isabella) and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and tan, blue and cream, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Heather

Heather has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Heather partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.

Puppy prices include a $550 non-refundable deposit and between $1,950 - $4,950 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, DNA Profile, D Locus (Dilute) DNA test, Full Embark Panel, PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy (PRA-crd), Standard Wirehaired Dachshund Type

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
