I'm Michael & Tammy H., the breeder behind Hillside Loop Kennel LLC located in Marshfield, MO. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. Each of our dogs has brought so much happiness to us throughout their lives. We want to do our part to produce wonderful, healthy dogs that can bring other people joy as well, and we strive to provide each of our puppies with loving homes where they can live happy lives.

What makes your program special?
We do not try to have litters on a pressure or market based system, we breed our dogs only 1 time a year to ensure the health and well being of our dogs and to produce only healthy quality puppies so that the new owner can enjoy many years with their new DogWhat are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include tricolor, sable and white, blue, brindle and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

So first off I want to say I am so grateful to have met Michael and Tammy, they have gave me the greatest little bundle of joy. Tammy was great at staying in touch in the process of bringing Cooper (formerly known as Hudson) home! She answered any questions I had and was very knowledgeable and helpful for everything I needed from vet records to ground transportation. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a Shih Tzu. I have had my Cooper 3 weeks, I have decided to stay in touch with Tammy over this time and plan to continue doing so, so that we’re both able to watch this little boy grow!
