I'm Xiomara L., the breeder behind Hillside’s located in Glastonbury, CT. I worked with some of the top handlers/breeders. I became a member of the A.S.C in 1984 was elected as Director for Zone 1.Chair founder of the "Hall of Distinction" was show chair of the ASC summer National in 2011. A.S.C.mentor ,AKC Breeder of Merit. judged specialties,actively AKC ring steward .

Why did you start breeding?
My first cocker was a bad experience , but that didn’t keep from learning what a good cocker should be .From there on I seek the help of Ted Young who referred me some local breeders and purchased my first show dogs CH.Hillside’s Sir Lancelot , Mr. Young also helped me find my foundation bitch Hillside’s At Last Adriana and 43 years later all of my breeding come from her in 9 generations.What makes your program special?
That I breed healthy dog to healthy dog and not before 2 years of age . I don’t mass produce and seek the dogs that fit my female rather than the flavor of the month and adhere to the standard as sporting dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Cocker Spaniel puppies include cream, buff and white, buff, black and white, black and tan, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
