Shelly was an absolute pleasure to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with our new furry family member, Oakley. We communicated with and carefully screened several breeders before making our decision, and from our very first interaction, we knew Shelly was the one we wanted to work with. She immediately offered to FaceTime with us so we could meet the puppies and see the home they were being raised in, which gave us a great sense of confidence and transparency. Shelly is a small, family-based breeder—not a large commercial operation and certainly not a puppy mill. It’s obvious how much she genuinely loves and cares for her dogs. She also puts in the extra effort to begin potty training and establish healthy sleep routines before the puppies go to their new homes, which made a noticeable difference in Oakley’s transition. In fact, we flew from California to Michigan because we felt so strongly about Shelly and the quality of her breeding program. The entire experience exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend her to anyone fortunate enough to have the opportunity to bring one of her puppies home.

I had two Dachshunds before, but this was my first time getting a dog from a breeder. It was an amazing experience getting a puppy from Dachshund breeder Shelley. When I first contacted her about her puppies, Shelley responded to my message right away and arranged for us to meet them the very next day. She was honest and transparent about which puppies were available, and after meeting them, we decided to welcome a little girl named Queen into our family. We had to wait around three weeks before bringing Queen home because she still needed her vaccinations. During that time, Shelley regularly sent us pictures and videos of Queen playing with her littermates. Watching her grow and play with her dog family while we waited to welcome her home made the experience even more special. Shelley also shared Queen’s daily routine with us, including that she sleeps with ocean sounds playing, what food and treats she likes, what type of training pads she uses, and many other helpful details. She gave us a lot of valuable information and advice, which made us feel well prepared. Because of all her guidance, our family had plenty of time to prepare for Queen’s arrival and make the transition to her new home as smooth as possible. If our family ever decides to get another Dachshund, or if any of our friends are looking for one, Shelley will be our first and only choice. We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a healthy, well-socialized puppy from a caring and knowledgeable breeder!
