Here at HonorRae Shih Tzu, we prioritize health and temperament while also paying close attention to breed standard and conformation! We raise our puppies in our loving home, and incorporate puppy curriculum, early socialization, and more, to give our pups the absolute best start in life possible!

Why did you start breeding?
Since I was a little girl I had a deep love for dogs. I actually dreamed of being a breeder someday and sharing the joy of a pup with families looking to add a furry companion. I raised Nigerian Dwarf Goats for awhile, and raised a Golden Retriever litter, but my passion lies with the Shih Tzu breed! I truly love raising puppies, and have a passion for setting them up for lifelong success.What makes your program special?
We deeply value health testing, and temperament testing our parent dogs. Genetics are so important when choosing which ones to pass down. After genetics play their role, it is also incredibly important to raise puppies in a way to set them up for success. We focus on ENS+ESI, building confidence, early manners, early socialization, desensitization, early potty training, grooming skills, and more!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include sable and white, sable, cream and white, chocolate, black, liver, gold, red, red and white, liver and white, gold and white, black gold and white, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Sarae
Sarae has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sarae partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Bonnie is our silly girl. She is talkative, and curious, and always making us laugh! She loves to go on walks and adventures, explore, play with kids, and meet new people. She is the type of Shih Tzu that enjoys hikes and physical activity! Bonnie loves her person, and loves to be where you are. She is sassy and sweet, and we love her short/cobby body type, and darling face with her big expressive eyes.

Flinty has the sweetest disposition. He is kind, playful, and funny as all get out! He comes from very nice lines, and has amazing structure, a gorgeous face, a thick beautiful coat, and really nice movement! Flint is very healthy, smart and very affectionate. He gets along well with all other dogs, and is very sweet natured and friendly with children and people in general!

About Basil
Basil is the definition of sweet and cuddly. She understood the assignment of what it means to be a lap dog! She would lay with you all day if you let her, and she'll stare lovingly into your eyes and give you kisses too. She gets along well with all our other dogs, she loves kids and all people, and she'll cozy right up even with strangers! She is on the smaller side, but she makes up for it with her larger than life love and affection. Basil is smart, fun, playful, easy going, and super cuddly. We love her tiny, and adorable face, her beautiful coat, and her precious personality.

Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
