I'm Payton J., the breeder behind Hope's Heart Shelties located in Central City, KY. Our dogs are bred specifically for temperament, focusing mostly on ESA personalities. Health is EXTREMELY important to us, and we guarantee it in every puppy that is raised in our home! Our babies grow up in our living room, surrounded by other animals, young children, and loud noises!
Q. & A. with Payton
Why did you start breeding?
I always knew I wanted to breed, I was just waiting for the right time and right breed to focus on! Life happens in mysterious ways. I lost a daughter at only 4 months old and specifically started looking for an emotional support dog. We found our first sheltie, and she gave me more therapy than any human ever could! We will ALWAYS own a sheltie!
What makes your program special?
Our program differs in others because conformation isn't the most important thing to us. We do try to breed within show standard, but our priority is making happy, healthy, puppies that can bring people the emotional support that we have gotten from these wonderful babies. Our shelties typically grow to the small side of standard, or undersized. We love producing all of the different colors!
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle white and tan, black and white, blue merle and white, black white and tan, sable merle and white, and sable and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
