I'm Alix H., the breeder behind Horse Creek Australian Shepherds located in Wichita Falls, TX. Temperament, conformation, and health are our top priority here at Horse Creek. We have dogs that go hiking in Nevada, surf along the coast, but all of our dogs have what we call the “off switch”. This is the aussie’s ability to sleep in with you on weekends and binge watch Netflix on a rainy day.

What makes your program special?
Temperament, conformation, and health are our top priority here at Horse Creek. By visiting our past pups page, you will see that we have dogs that go hiking in Nevada, surf along the coast, perform agility, but all of our dogs have what we call the “off switch”. This is the aussie’s ability to sleep in with you on weekends and binge watch Netflix on a rainy day.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include blue merle and black tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Alix
Alix has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Alix partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price
“The price of the puppy is dependent on gender and color. It comes with first round of vaccinations, deworming and health guarantee. The deposit is half the total cost of the puppy and is non-refundable. The other half is due at time of pickup.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia , Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
