Q. & A. with Tanya
Why did you start breeding?
Since I have been grooming for years, I have seen many pure bred & breed mixes. My exposure to bad breeding, research, and education helped me decide to create puppies from a certified healthy, happy, smart and loving Mom & Dad.
What makes your program special?
My breeding program is special for several reasons. My Dame & Sir had extensive health testing for the 'Poodle" breed. I waited 3 years to get to know my pair to make sure they were fantastic candidates to create a great litter. Pups thrive on learning even at a young age. Our pups are doing well with potty, grooming, commands, leash & kennel training. Mom & Dad help too!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are moyen size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Gemma, mom
Poodle
About Gemma
Gemma is the house mom. She is makes her rounds whether it's in the yard, or in the house. She comes to tell me or my husband if something is off by bumping her nose on our leg. She is the peacemaker when our son's get into a scuffle. We have chickens that are in a separate fenced area in our yard. Gemma constantly scan this sky for hawks. She will run to the fence and bark at the chicken when she spots a predator, as if to say "go in your coop". Gemma loves to ride in the car to take the boys to school or just run by the bank. We knew she would make a good mom once she had pups. She has proved herself as an excellent mom. If the pups don't sit for me to give the command they can come in the door, she has a word with them. Love this gal!!

Ranger, dad
Poodle
About Ranger
Ranger is super chill. He thrives on listens well, and loves hard. I have to say, he was the easiest to teach off lead.
Ranger has think coat has very thick. He has beautiful nails for a dude. His favorite thing to do is camp at the lake. Riding on captain's chair in the boat is his favorite spot! Ranger is VERY sensitive to people's emotions. We have an 11 year old that is on the spectrum. Ranger senses melt downs coming and goes and put's his head on my son's lap.
Parent health testing
Horse Creek Valley Ranch reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Moyen Poodles.
Dry Eye Curly Coat Syndrome (CKSID), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA), Generalized, Osteochondrodysplasia, Miniature Poodle Type, Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
