I'm Gettie H., the breeder behind Free Heart Farms located in Franklin, NC. We are huge animal lovers and have a special place in our hearts for our dogs. We want to provide top-quality beloved companions. We are home-based breeders dedicated to bringing healthy, loving, and high-quality Border Collies & Greyhounds into the homes and hearts of their forever families.

Why did you start breeding?
I come from a long line of farmers and ranchers.What makes your program special?
We are training 1st breeders which is one of the reasons we restrict ourselves to no more than 2 litters per year and NEVER 2 at the same time. This allows us to give the puppies training and assessments that many breeders do not . We also wait until the puppies around 5 weeks old to start the puppy picking process so that we can try and match puppies with owners based on drive level.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our Border Collie puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Border Collie puppies include white and blue, white and red, and slate. Greyhound puppies include blue fawn and white, fawn and white, fawn, blue fawn, blue brindle and white, blue brindle, red brindle and white, red brindle, black and white, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

"Includes 1st set of shots, deworming and a few extra items to take home like a comfort item with the scent of your pups littermates, a couple days worth of food and a chew for the pups journey home. Deposit will hold your puppy until time of pick up when final/completion payment is due. Refundable only in the case of health complications in the pup that cannot be resolved while still in my care."

Litter update on 05 Sept 2025 •…Update: Blue has officially been chosen as the first to pair up with Lyra for a litter that will be a mix of medium and high drive pups. Blue is Medium drive and the pups that inherit that will be best for therapy work. Lyra is a mix of Medium to High drive and the pups that inherit that will be best for dog sports and farm work. I expect Lyra to go into heat around January for an April/May go home date for the pups. Puppy drive and ability analysis will be completed at 5 weeks and puppy picks will be at 6 weeks in order or reservation. Parents will be double registered AKC/CKC. Pups will be CKC only. Expecting Red, Blue and Lilac.
