I'm Mishelle B., the breeder behind Hounds by Mishelle located in Carthage, MO. Dachshunds have proven to be the greatest companions to our family. We started breeding to contribute to breed betterment and to share smart and loveable puppies with other families.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I worked for a breeder in 2005 who passed away. I purchased my first two dachshunds and I was hooked for life I just had to share the joy this breed brought to my life!

  • What makes your program special?

    Being hands on with my dogs daily making sure they have the best of everything to keep them healthy, friendly, socialized, exercised and most of all completely spoiled!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our Poodle puppies are miniature size. Dachshund puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Dachshund puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Mishelle

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Mishelle is a lovely woman and very caring breeder. It's obvious from the moment one meets her how much she loves her dogs and their puppies, and how she protects them and takes excellent care of them. She greeted the both of us with a hug of welcome, and showed us great kindness. She has a wonderful kennel set up for her dogs and puppies that shows her dedication to each and every animal. I cannot stress enough how wonderful and sweet Mishelle is, and what incredible care she gives to each and every puppy, as well as her adult dogs. I would suggest that anyone who is looking for a well bred and cared for Dachshund puppy work with Mishelle; she is both a responsible and caring breeder.

    Mishelle was great to work with. She responded quickly and was very genuine about getting to know me and my family. She was awesome and flexible about meeting up to pick up our puppy.     Mishelle was a joy to work with and she made my little kid dreams come true. I’d always wanted a dog (dachshund specifically) and she raised the perfect little one for me. Throughout the process, she was very responsive and provided regular updates. It’s clear her main priority is making sure they’re all okay and healthy.
