Selena has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Selena partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 12 weeks old.

“Each puppy includes AKC limited registration, registered microchip, contract/health guarantee, vaccination/health history, diet sample, toys, slip lead, puppy raising information. All of our puppies regardless of size and/or color are priced equal. If the timeline in getting your puppy from a litter would change I will allow transfer to a future litter.”
Selena may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. If Selena offers a contract or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them. If you have any questions or want to know more, don't hesitate to reach out to Selena directly.
When you pay and communicate on Good Dog, you’re covered by Payment Protection.

Selena Howard of Howard's Hounds was (and continues to be) a joy to work with. She rescued our smooth red mini dachshund, and nursed him back to health over the course of a year. When I saw him (Houdini) online, we just fell in love. Selena and I spent about 45 minutes on our first phone call -- she gave his complete history (with all pros and cons) and told us about her breeding program, other dogs, and background. Selena is in Louisville, KY; we live in Columbus OH. She was kind enough to meet us in Covington, KY with Houdini for the handoff. We really appreciated her making the trip up to Covington -- it made our travel so much easier. We spent a couple hours with her, another of her ADORABLE dachshunds, and Houdini, just all getting to know each other. When it came time to leave, it was very evident that Selena really cared about our little rescue -- it was a tearful goodbye. Selena sent us back to Ohio with a huge goody bag of dog items to keep Houdini happy and healthy for the next few months. Also, during his time with Selena, she had him microchipped, wormed, vaccinated -- basically everything that needed to be done. When we got back to Columbus, we took Houdini to our vet for his initial local appointment. The vet was amazed to hear his story, and to see how social and confident Houdini was. The vet declared that he was in perfect health. Selena had also socialized Houdini with her other dogs, and had even taken him to show events! He loves people, animals, hunting, and life. SUMMARY: Selena Howard is a caring, professional dog breeder. If I ever want a second dachshund, she'll be the first person I call. Also, she's delightful.
