I'm Anjelica B., the breeder behind Howlin' Wolf K9's located in Jasper, AL. I am striving to give my dogs a purpose. I strive to provide veterans and kids or adults with a versatile dog that can not only push cattle or do agility in a ring, but to stand by their side and perform tasks that aid them in their disabilities. I breed versatile, loving dogs.
Q. & A. with Anjelica
Why did you start breeding?
My family has bred hounds for generations, mainly for hunting but also for family pets. I guess you could say I've followed in my family's footsteps but started with Australian Shepherds.
What makes your program special?
My program focuses on utilizing our dogs great minds and strong spirits to show the world that aussies and foxhounds can be more than they're depicted as. Our pups are suitable for becoming service dogs, therapy dogs, and all-around great family companions, not just hunters or herders w/ proper training.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
