I'm Jeff & Hannah H., the breeder behind Hughes Heritage Aussies located in Albany, IN. Barron and Honey, are part of our everyday life on the farm — not just breeding dogs! We are committed to raise each puppy with hands-on care to prepare them for family, farm, or active homes. We want every puppy to receive plenty of individual attention from the day they’re born.

Why did you start breeding?
A few years ago we surprised our kids with a stuffed animal, a bag of dog treats, and a note telling them they could pick out their own dog. They both chose Australian Shepherds (male and female) and we were amazed by their intelligence and people-oriented personalities. We knew these were the dogs and breed we wanted for years to come.What makes your program special?
Our Australian Shepherd puppies have natural tails and dewclaws. We believe these decisions are personal preferences, and many families enjoy the expressive nature and appearance of a full tail. Our focus is on raising healthy, well-socialized Australian Shepherds with excellent temperaments.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black & white, red & white, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Jeff & Hannah has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Jeff & Hannah partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Price includes your puppy, first vet well-puppy exam, distemper vaccination, their first dose of Credelio Quatrtro for fleas, ticks, heartworms and more, and a starter pack of puppy food! We offer all of our puppies at the same prices regardless of color, gender and size. A $300 non-refundable deposit is due to reserve your puppy.”

Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
