I'm Joe M., the breeder behind Hummingbird Fields located in Ocala, FL. We have been breeding Maltese for 13 years and absolutely love them. We have AKC/CKC registered litters and have chosen our dams/sires for their physical traits and pedigree, emphasizing Korean lineage. What sets our puppies apart is how we treat them - our dogs and puppies are treated and loved like family!

What makes your program special?
Our program is special because our adult dogs and puppies are treated like family and we look for the same match on all our puppies we place. From placement with another breeder to placement as a pet or companion, a loving and caring environment is essential.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Getting a puppy from Joe
Joe has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
"Our price includes AKC/CKC registration, Florida health certificate, first series of vaccinations, microchipping and deworming. A lesser price would be considered for a pet only (no breeding rights). We require a $300 deposit in order to hold and guarantee a puppy. Deposits in hand longer than 24 hours are non-refundable to account for potential loss of the sale of the puppy."

Joe may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Rocket is an handsome full breed Yorkshire Terrier. He is 3 pounds and about 18 months old (11/28/25). He loves everyone and interacts great with adults, kids, cats and all sizes of dog. He is a parti-Yorkie (black, white and tan), produces multicolored litters and is CKC registered.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

+8Joe was super easy to work with. We got to meet our puppy a few weeks before pick-up and get to know her, mommy, and Joe. He answered our questions quickly and overall process could not have been smoother. Our puppy's demeanor has been perfect too. She was pee-pad trained when we picked her up, traveled easily in the car ride home, and has been loving and cheerful from moment we met her. She learns very quickly and has adapted extremely well to all the sounds, people and experiences we've exposed her too. We could not be happier with her and the experience overall!
