Meet the breeder

I'm Sarah K., the breeder behind Hurrikane Cardigans located in Eustis, FL. Hurrikane Cardigans strives to raise well adjusted, healthy puppies that adhere to the breed standard so that they can excel in their adventures with their families. Our dogs participate in many dog activities and are well-rounded, as the breed should be. Puppies are raised with Puppy Culture methods. All puppies planned and raised with careful consideration.

Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I co-bred my first litter with my mentor, she kept newborn pups at her house and I visited frequently. I was afraid of having neonates as a novice, so I learned by example in my visits. The litter moved in with me when they were happy and healthy 4-week old puppies, and that experience was amazing. It helped me understand the enormous effort and also enormous pride that goes into a happy litter.
  • What makes your program special?

I value quality over quantity. As a more occasional breeder, puppies are a 24/7 responsibility while in my care. They are raised with Puppy Culture, many aspects that I have used for years before PC existed. My puppy owners know I am there for the lifetime of their puppy. I put my heart into puppies, and I follow them as they grow. Pups are matched to homes based on matching lifestyles.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
