Meet the breeder

I'm Sherril C., the breeder behind Idaho Dachshunds located in Idaho Falls, ID. I started breeding in 2002. We decided on the name Idaho Dachshunds and name our parent dogs after Idaho towns. My first litters were full of learning about health, prevention, and customer service. I have improved and changed my breeding program as I've learned from other breeders and vets what works best for healthy puppies and the health of the parents. I am in the process of Embark testing all my parents.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    In 2017 I remarried and moved out of my rural town, to a location just 30 miles a way. I had several returning customers and I valued their business and friendship. In 2020 my parents came to stay with me. My breeding business provided me the income I needed to be with them daily. In 2022 my step dad passed away. My mom remained with me until her passing this summer in July (2024).

  • What makes your program special?

    I provide beautiful healthy puppies. I am committed to open communication and excellent customer service. I strive to have return customers and I love updates about puppies as they grow into adulthood.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, black, chocolate, chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and between $750 - $1,050 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price of $1,250 includes AKC limited registration, current vaccinations, dewormed and health record. $1550 includes all items listed above but with full breeding rights. You're deposit reserves your puppy until it is time for them to go to their new home.”
