I'm Ilene K., the breeder behind Ilene Kaplan's Cairn Terriers located in Schenectady County, NY. I'm a small show breeder of carefully selected Cairn Terriers. I breed to the breed standards to better the breed. I study the pedigree, structure, and genetics of every Terrier pair prior to breeding. My priorities when breeding are health and temperament, and I strive to improve the line with each generation by seeking out complementary traits in compatible puppy parents.

My dogs are excellent representations of the breed, and I am proud to continue their line. I breed to help ensure the future of the Cairn Terrier and to improve upon my dogs' fantastic traits with each generation.What makes your program special?
I hold myself to the highest standard when it comes to my dogs and my policies. I am thorough in health testing and caring for my dogs, and I make sure each puppy gets the proper group and individual care that it needs to thrive. My goal is to ensure that every dog that comes from my program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role when it leaves my care.Where do your breeding dogs live?
