Meet the breeder

I'm Dana M., the breeder behind Irish Paws 23 AKC Dachshunds located in Deland, FL. Having dogs in our lives is such a blessing. We find so much fulfillment in providing that same companionship to other homes! We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families. We strive to provide each of our puppies and their families with a truly positive experience!

Q. & A. with Dana

  • Why did you start breeding?

My mentor was a woman named Marge who had experience and had shown at Westminster. She gave me my first real champion show dog who was a long haired blue and tan. He was a wonderful dog and loved the show ring and was great at home with the best temperament!
  • What makes your program special?

Personality, color and quality dogs are the goal. I want owners to feel they have a special puppy who can go anywhere and do anything. Doxies have so much loyalty and unconditional love and people keep good dogs for life so it is best to focus on a great temperament and foundation so they fit into the new family with ease and steal their hearts.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include red, black and tan, fawn (isabella) and cream, gray (blue) and cream, chocolate and cream, and black and cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
