I'm Lisa L., the breeder behind It’s a Hot Mess located in Lubbock, TX. We breed with passion and integrity so we’re able to responsibly contribute to growing this amazing breed. It’s important to us to share the love of this breed with others. They really are amazing in every way and have had my heart for over 10 years.

Why did you start breeding?
My MIL has bred doxies for years, but in 2021, my Mr. Rolo was lost in a tragic accident. I had to fill a void and find another dachshund to help us heal. My area had nothing to offer. So I decided to embark on breeding these beautiful animals and making them available to my hometown. I think they are amazing for families & kids and want to share that passion.What makes your program special?
I have a very small “program”, if that’s what you want to call it. I don’t believe in kennels or making them stay outside. My dogs all sleep with me, go on trips and always under my feet. I am their human and they are my babies. I embark dna test to make sure they are the healthiest possible with great demeanors. I hold myself to a high standard in all aspects, that includes my program.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $1,250 - $2,150 final payment, before taxes & fees.
