I'm Leah D., the breeder behind IvoryForge Dachshunds located in Lowell, IN. Welcome to IvoryForge Dachshunds, where our love for Miniature Longhaired Dachshunds is at the heart of everything we do. We are a small, family-based program dedicated to raising beautiful, healthy, well-tempered Dachshunds that are loved first and foremost as members of our family. We have a special passion for the show ring and thoughtfully plan each breeding with the goal of preserving correct structure, wonderful temperament, and true Dachshund type. Our puppies are raised with love in our home, receiving plenty of attention and socialization from the very beginning. Whether destined for the show ring or a loving family home, we hope every IvoryForge puppy carries with them the beauty, confidence, and character that made us fall in love with this wonderful breed.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I fell in Love with the breed after bringing home my first Dachshund Zelda, she was the absolute best dog I've ever had and I wanted to share her personality and character with others through her puppies! She is retired and fixed now and still living her best life with us at 14 years old ❤️

  • What makes your program special?

    I breed for structure and temperament over color. I also want to pass down good instincts and a willingness to hunt and track as the breed was intended to do. my puppies are raised from the very start in our home and spoiled from the day they are born!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are cream. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Leah

Leah has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Leah partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and between $2,300 - $3,800 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price depends on who the parents are and if they are from Ch or GCh lines. I do charge more for females since that gives my boys a better chance to find homes ;). Deposit to hold will be taken after puppies reach 2 weeks of age so that I am certain they are thriving and well.”

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation
