I'm Jan S., the breeder behind Jan’s Shihtzus located in Lebanon, TN. Having a dog in our lives is such a blessing. I want to provide that same companionship to others. While our goal is to share loving puppies with families, we are still a selective program. We only breed when we’re sure we can produce the healthiest and best example of the breed possible. I have them vet checked, they are given first set of shots, and dewormed. This is a healthy bloodline. I trained with another breeder for two years before I started breeding. I have been breeding for 5 years. Please be aware shihtzus are not hot weather dogs. Due to small nose don’t advise going out on heat of day.

    I was trained by person in AL I bought my first shihtzu from 7 years ago

  • What makes your program special?

    I love my dogs and take very good care of them and their puppies are well taken care of as well. I love them as my own until they go to their forever home.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jan

Price

Puppy prices include a $50 non-refundable deposit and between $925 - $950 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"Price includes CKC registration, they are vet checked, dewormed, have had first set of shots, come with blanket with mommas scent, puppy food and a puppy toy. Females and males ate the same price 1000. I do a small deposit just to insure the puppy has a home. Puppy must come back to me if for any reason does not work out. I require a signature you are happy with your puppy."

    We recently got our puppy (Echo) from Jan and couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, she kept us updated with photos and videos as he grew, was always available to answer questions, and even met us partway for pickup. She provided thorough care instructions, medical records, CKC paperwork as far along as possible, extra food, toys, and a blanket with the scents of his parents and littermates to help with the transition. It was clear she genuinely cared about his well-being and wanted him set up for success in his new home. This is our second puppy, and after having difficulties with our first due to poor early socialization, the difference was immediately noticeable. Our new pup is confident, curious, gentle, comfortable being handled, familiar with toys, energetic, and was essentially pad-trained when we brought him home. Most striking is how unafraid he is, which really reflects how safe and well cared for he was during those critical early weeks. Watching the contrast between our dogs has shown just how important proper early care is. Jan truly exceeds what anyone could hope for in a breeder, and if we ever decide to add another dog, she will be our first call.

    I will get a photo later. Jan was excellent working with me for the puppy. She answered my questions promptly and sent me videos and pictures of him along the way. She even sent pictures of the brand of food she was feeding him and the milk she was giving him. She met me right on time to pick him up and even drove further than I did which was a big help. I could not have asked for things to go any smoother. I recommend if you are looking for a shih tzu to please get in touch with her. You won't regret it whatsoever.
